Reactor Primary (Feedwater, Control Rods, Coolant valve, Relief Valves), the Grid terminal, Emergency Systems (SCRAM only), Startup Control (Shutdown Pumps switch, Reactor Ignition), the Shift Manager panel, two turbine panels, the main notification panel and the SKALA panel — “Displays hacked computers during raids”. Four stations, two exits. SKALA is named after Chernobyl’s control system.

KMeaning
323Minimum / stall temperature
530Approximate minimum for turbine sync
650Ignition — the TCG’s floor
~1,415Coolant valve opened during start-up
1,420Nominal / ideal operating temperature — the TCG’s start
~1,700–1,750Ceiling at which one feedwater pump still suffices
2,100Hazard Pay Bill threshold
2,400“REACTOR OVERHEAT — The Reactor is above safe operating parameters…”; High Temperature music
2,600Safe-SCRAM procedure: send rods to 100 %
3,120Meltdown begins: “REACTOR SHUTDOWN — An official emergency has been declared. Emergency options are now available.”
> 3,300 / > 3,500 / 4,000SCRAM “~99 % fails” / “nearly impossible” / “absolutely zero”
  • Control rods: 100 % is maximum cooling (−9 K/s), 0 % is +11 K/s; “1 % of rods raises/lowers temperature by 0.2 K/s”; 55 % is stable at ≥ 75 % fuel. A rod jam shows “ERROR” and is unrecoverable.
  • Feedwater: two pumps at 80 % utilisation (0.92 m³/s each); above 80.1 % or 2,560 RPM the panel reads “PUMP 1/2 CAVITATING” — the Feedwater Pump Trip Incident. One pump lost is survivable below ~1,750 K.
  • Coolant: pumps “Alpha” and “Beta” (“never abbreviate”), 2,500 RPM, 6,000 kW each; off at server start. The Coolant Pumps card.
  • Relief valves: four; each −75 K over 10 s with a 90 s cooldown; stacked, about −300 K. “Cycling” is re-opening each as it comes back; “Dumping” is all four at once. Relief Valve Cycling is COOL 150 with a one-shift cooldown.
  • Fuel: refuel below ~80 %; temperature drops fast below 75 %; PM operate the crane and the refueller panel’s FRS slots (“swap rods”). Reactor Hall’s Refuel.
  • Turbines: two; sync window 2,990–3,010 RPM on the synchroscope; explode at 5,000 RPM or 0 % wear; trip below 1.5 m³/s.
  • Grid: external bus (550,000 V) → primary bus → auxiliary bus → DC bus; configurations External, Turbine, Emergency. Station load 25,000–30,000 kW. The Master Arm Switch sits on the Power Bus Panel.
  • Emergency Diesel Generators: three, ~5,500 kW each; refuel below 70 %, +30 % per can, a 36-can rack, low-fuel alarm at 15 %. The EDG card.

Orders arrive about every 90 s, demand 15,000–24,500 kW (double under the Power Order Efficiency Act), must be held within margin for ~20 s, and pay 150 XP. Shift tiers: T1 0–3 orders 500 XP; T2 4–6 1,000 XP; T3 7+ 3,000 XP and the badge The Perfect Shift; T4 12 orders 6,000 XP — hard-coded unreachable, “Removed by 2NIA”. Tier 3 music plays only if the reactor is below 2,400 K.

At 3,120 K a meltdown is declared; the SCRAM button becomes available after roughly 45–75 s. Pressing it drops the rods to 100 % and cancels the meltdown multiplier — “it is considered impossible to prevent an explosion without using it”. Then four minutes to bring the core below 900 K (raised from 800 K in “Percussive Maintenance”, 1 August 2026). Failure: “the entire reactor core launches up and onto its side as well as killing anybody nearby”; two minutes to reach the Staff or City bunker before the secondary explosion; the Plant Director is auto-fired; 500 XP for survival. Backronym: “Safety Control Rod Axe Man”.

Radiation has stages 0–3 keyed to water level and temperature; hazmat colours are PM orange, LO dark green, RO / PD yellow, SM blue, NMP / NAMS / 8NEC white. The TCG’s HAZMAT keyword and the Overheat radiation tick come from here.
