The eight slots
Section titled “The eight slots”| Slot | Name | Pool | Guarantee |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1–5 | Standard Issue | C only | 5 distinct Standard Issue cards |
| 6 | Service | U | 1 Service Grade |
| 7 | Service+ | U by default, may upgrade to R | Service Grade or better |
| 8 | Restricted+ | R / RH / X / AA / Z by weight | Restricted or better |
Rules applied after the slots are rolled:
- Holo roll. Each of slots 1–7 has a 3 % chance to come out holo (“Service Foil”). RH, X, AA and Z prints are always holo.
- Faction spread. Slots 1–5 contain at least two different factions.
- No duplicates inside a crate — never the same card twice in eight.
- Bloc hint (optional per player). If you set a preferred bloc, slots 1–2 draw from a bloc-filtered pool 60 % of the time. Never affects slot 8.
Crate size is fixed at 8 for every crate kind in Set 001; event crates and Daily Pack rolls change weights, not the slot count — with two exceptions below.
Daily Pack rolls
Section titled “Daily Pack rolls”A Daily Pack is a crate with 5–8 cards and two or three rolls printed on the pouch. Rolls do one of three things:
- filter the pool — HAZMAT DETAIL, SECFOR ISSUE, HOSTILE CONTACT, PERSONNEL FILE, EQUIPMENT REQUISITION;
- change the holo chance — HOLO PLATE (50 % on all slots);
- change the last slot’s pool — RESTRICTED OR BETTER, EXECUTIVE PRESENCE (X 60 / RH 40), Z-CLEARANCE (Z 15 / X 35 / RH 50), or add a second Restricted-or-better slot (DOUBLE RARE).
Every roll has a player-facing detail line in the shop; the odds page prints them during the day they apply.
Generation
Section titled “Generation”The client never rolls. When you open a crate the server loads the active odds config and any live event modifier, your pity counters and your collection, draws slot by slot from a cryptographic RNG (HMAC-SHA256 over a seed and a counter, so a seed replays identically), applies constraints, pity and duplicate protection in that order, writes your new cards and an audit row in one transaction, and returns the ordered result with the reveal metadata. Opening is idempotent: asking twice returns the stored result. Results are never re-rolled and crates are non-transferable.
Duplicates
Section titled “Duplicates”- Playset = 3. A fourth copy is still delivered — you see it in the crate — and it is the natural fodder for Promotion. Duplicates pay double XP on opening (“salvage”).
- X / AA / Z: no duplicates until you own every card of that tier in the set.
- RH: if the rolled card is already owned three times, re-roll once within RH.
- Z serials: every Classified instance carries a season serial.
The opening
Section titled “The opening”The scene is the Control Room’s main notification panel. Crate on the Cargo Train belt (set stamp CRITICAL MASS · CM01) → keycard swipe, reader lamp in the crate’s best-tier colour (a tell; can be disabled) → panel wakes at 1,420 K → cards 1–5 flip with “STATIONED” → 6–7 with “POWER ORDER COMPLETE” (or “HAZARD PAY BILL IN EFFECT” if slot 7 upgraded) → slot 8 holds face down while the needle climbs to the tier’s reading → the reveal → the summary fan with NEW / duplicate badges, the XP earned and your pity counters. Skippable after the first five; reduced motion removes shake and flash.
