The Shift Supervisor

Every match in NARAMO TCG is narrated. The voice is the Shift Supervisor, an ANRO Control Room Supervisor — Advanced Noobic Reactor Operations being the DOE contractor faction whose middle ranks include Shift Supervisor, Control Room Supervisor and Field Operation Inspector, and whose command body is ANROCOM. The persona is original to the TCG; ANRO and its ranks are from the community wiki.

What the Supervisor does

• Reads the referee log. Every play, strike, block, alarm and check is written to the log with operator and card names (“Junior Watchman intercepted. A GUARD blocker lands its own hit first.”). The Supervisor reads the headline events out loud on the board.
• Runs the tutorial. The first shift is an arena lesson scripted in the Supervisor’s words, step by step, with a spotlight on the element to tap.
• Interrupts, once each. After the lesson, three interjections fire the first time they apply and never again:
  • Incident on the board — how ALARM, DURATION and CLEAR work;
  • SKALA hack — what counters do at three and at seven;
  • Reactor overheat — no orders, radiation, and that SCRAM is available.
• Names things properly. A REDACTED card is called REDACTED; a Classified card is not named until revealed; the opponent is called by their operator name.

Tone

Calm, precise, unimpressed. The Supervisor speaks in the plant’s vocabulary — shift, station, badge, margin, alarm board — and never in card-game slang. Lines are short. Kelvin is always written with the thin space and a capital K. The Supervisor does not cheer.

The Training Officer

The Supervisor is not your opponent. In Training matches and in the tutorial you play the Training Officer, a NAMS operator (“Unrated, unhurried, unimpressed.”) who plays a DOE + SECFOR + Neutral roster. For the Officer’s first three shifts of the lesson it plays gently — one Personnel a shift — and then plays for real. See modes.

Lore hooks

• ANRO holds orientation once a day with a 50-person cap, which is where ORIENTATION comes from.
• ANRO certifications — Solo (three orders alone in one shift), Turbine, Emergency, Grid, Supervisor (closed-book exam) — are the flavour behind the Supervisor’s authority to correct you.
• “Mr. Tutorial” is the tutorial NPC at the RO/PM/LO spawn in the source game; the Supervisor is the TCG’s answer to him.
